When is soccer season?
At an early age, players can register for a full-year or a half-year program. Games are played in the fall season and the spring season. Half-year registration consists of one season. Full-year registration consists of both fall and spring seasons. Once players progress to the pre-travel or travel program, registration is full year and consists of both fall and spring seasons.
Registration Opens November 15th and closes on March 1st
Tryouts for Pre-Travel and Travel teams take place in Late May
Season typically starts in mid to late March
Season typically ends in early to mid June
Registration runs from July 1 through about September 1st, however, divisions commonly reach capacity around August 15th.
Season starts early September
Season ends late November
How do I get our team uniforms?
We offer two different uniforms depending on what league you play in. Our pre-travel and travel teams use one uniform and our In-House teams use a different one. All club uniform information can be found on our Uniform page.
Where can I find info on becoming a KPSC sponsor?
The League is fortunate to have several generous sponsors that support our organization. Please consider becoming a loyal KPSC sponsor by visiting our sponsor page.
How do I volunteer to be a team administrator?
Contact the director of your child's division via email (Directors page) to express your interest in becoming an administrator or an assistant. For travel coaches, please fill out a coaching application found in the coach’s corner on our website.
How does my child become a referee?
Kings Park Junior Referee Program provides our youth (9 year old minimum) with the ability to learn the craft of being a referee. Fall referees are provided a referee meeting to properly learn the rules, positioning, command of the game, and other attributes of refereeing that makes one successful on the field. Being a referee with KPSC is a paid job, it is taken seriously, and we'll make sure you are well supported with instruction and ongoing feedback. If interested, please contact Mr. Tom Darmody at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When will I hear from my team administrator or division coordinator?
Division coordinators typically email the players in the division approximately two weeks before the season begins. In addition, emails will be sent from the club regarding Opening Day festivities for the fall and spring season. Please be sure that the email address you use to register is current and monitored as information is presented via email. Please read these emails in their entirety to ensure you have received the most recent dates and times.
This is my child’s first time playing soccer. What equipment do they need?
First off, welcome to the wonderful world of youth soccer. Players at a very young age should wear soccer cleats or sneakers. As your child progresses, you should get soccer cleats. If players participate in indoor soccer, players can wear sneakers or indoor soccer shoes. All players are required to wear shin guards. Shin guards should be an appropriate size for the player and should be worn under the player’s soccer socks at all times. Players should bring their own soccer ball and a water bottle to all training sessions and games. Size 3 soccer balls are appropriate for U4-U7. Size 4 soccer balls should be used by U8 through U12 players. U13 and older should use a size 5 soccer ball.
How do I know what division to register my child for?
To find the correct division, simply look for your child’s birth year on our registration page. In US Youth soccer, divisions may also be referred to as U4 or U5, etc. This designation refers to players who are under 4 or 5 years old by the start of the fall season. While we have made the registration easy for parents by aligning the site to the birth year of the player, the division name might include U4, 5, or 6 etc., which relates to the soccer curriculum your child will be exposed to during the year. Specific soccer skills are introduced at age appropriate levels.
How do I know if a soccer game is canceled because of the weather?
If your child is playing in Kings Park, you will be notified by the club and/or coach by email at least two hours before your scheduled game time. Typically, information is also posted on our club Facebook page. If your game is not being played in Kings Park, your coach will contact you once they hear from the opposing club.
