Boys & Girls Under 8 - Born on or after August 1, 2000

Boys & Girls Under 9 - Born on or after August 1, 1999

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in. Bring a ball. Wear shin guards. Wear a white shirt.
Cleats and water are also recommended.

All players that wish to tryout for a Travel Team for play in the Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 season must:

Sign up for Tryouts with the KPSC for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 season before the tryout is strongly suggested.
This will allow the KPSC to adequately staff each of the tryouts, ensuring that each player gets a fair look.
Online travel pre-registration will be available shortly.

The Travel Program is administered and regulated by the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL).
The KPSC manages our own Travel Teams and in certain cases augments the rules set forth by the LIJSL.
The following information may help answer questions you have concerning the Travel Program.

Other Information
Player Registration All players wishing to tryout for a travel team should sign up for tryouts at the KPSC web site prior to the tryout. Players selected for a travel team must complete registration with the KPSC online. Players will only be duly registered with the LIJSL after registration is completed and the registration fee is paid in full. The registration fee does not include the cost of uniform.
Player Selection Players trying out for a Travel Team are not guaranteed a place on a team roster. All players will be notified by the KPSC as to whether or not they have been selected for a team. Players not selected for a travel team may have the option to tryout for another team in their age range (if one exists) or else will be placed on a team in the interleague program. Players placed in the interleague program will be entitled to a refund of the difference in registration fees, if any.
Practice Sessions Travel Team players are expected to attend mandatory practice sessions during the playing season. The number, duration, day of the week and location of practice sessions is determined by the coaching staff.

All games must be played. Rain outs are always made-up. Games can only be canceled by league officials or the referee assigned to the game. No schedule changes (date or time).
Game Locations All Travel Teams play half their games in Kings Park and half at the home field of the opponents. Away game locations can be as far east as Mattituck and as far west as Auburndale.
Uniforms All Travel Team Players must purchase a KPSC approved uniform consisting of a home and away jersey, shorts and socks. All players must wear shin guards.
Playing Time Playing time is determined by the coaching staff.
Other Games Travel Teams are encouraged to participate in soccer competitions outside of league play. These include Challenge Cups and LIJSL sanctioned tournaments. These may occur during the winter or summer or on weekends during the season when there is no league play (such as holiday weekends).
Roster Sizes The LIJSL and KPSC have set minimum and maximum roster sizes. Teams not able to roster the minimum number of players may not participate in the travel program.
Age Limits Age ranges for each team for the Fall 2008 / Spring 2009 seasons are as follows:

 Born between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001
U9
 Born between August 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000
U10 Born between August 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999
U11 Born between August 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998
U12 Born between August 1, 1996 and July 31, 1997
U13 Born between August 1, 1995 and July 31, 1996
U14 Born between August 1, 1994 and July 31, 1995
U15 Born between August 1, 1993 and July 31, 1994
U16 Born between August 1, 1992 and July 31, 1993
U17 Born between August 1, 1991 and July 31, 1992
U19 Born between August 1, 1989 and July 31, 1991

No player, under any circumstances, may play in an age group below their age range. The KPSC will make every effort to ensure that players play at their own age group.
